LegalStar was founded as Legalsoft in 1994 by registered patent attorney Robert P. Simpson. The company's first software product was brought to market in October, 1994 by marketing director Michael W. Swartz. Our principal place of business is in Williamsville, New York.

Our flagship product, IP LegalForm® Pro, is now used worldwide by more than 1000 law firms and corporations. IP LegalDockTM Pro is the world's most powerful, low-priced docketing software for intellectual property law. Tens of thousands of our forms and USPTO Laser Acknowledgment Postcards are mailed every year to the USPTO.
Our mission from inception has been to provide powerful, innovative and affordable software solutions for intellectual property attorneys, agents, paralegals and secretaries. Our products are fully supported by a technical support department available to answer any questions.
